To support a culture of nonviolence and social cohesion in Cambodia with Positive Peace and To strengthen a locally trained pool of individuals committed to implement peacebuilding actions, the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) is partnering with Women Peace Makers (WPM) for project "Intersectional Approach toward Community Transformation for Peace". The workshop is the third phase of a three-phase approach that includes co-developing a contextually relevant peace leadership curriculum, training 25 interethnic youth on IEP’s Positive Peace framework to serve as local resource for peace in conflict transformation and peace education, and fostering sustained engagement to ensure ongoing impact. Facilitated by IEP Partnership Development Manager, Patricia Garcia, the Positive Peace Workshop will bring together 25 participants to raise awareness of the Positive Peace Framework. The workshop places IEP’s research into the hands of people and help communities develop practical, concrete actions to strengthen the social structures, attitudes and institutions that foster peace.

Positive Peace can be viewed as creating an optimal environment in which human potential can flourish. IEP’s Positive Peace training aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the Pillars of Positive Peace and empower them to go back to their communities as agents of change. Participants will gain knowledge in the concept of Positive Peace, analyse the strengths and weaknesses of their system and collaborate to design projects or policies that address their identified needs. As a part of the training program, participants will complete the IEP Peace Academy and submit their individual peace projects. This interactive Positive Peace Training is designed for selected Opera artists, with discussion on their Positive Peace projects.
