THE INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMICS & PEACE AND FOLKE BERNADOTTE ADADEMY INVITE YOU TO THE STOCKHOLM SEMINAR ON GLOBAL PEACE INDEX 2017
On the occasion of the launch of the Global Peace Index 2017 a joint seminar will be held, followed by research presentations on the conceptualization of peace and a discussion regarding contemporary challenges to peacebuilding in light of current conflict trends. Is the world becoming more or less peaceful? What are the most relevant indicators of peace? How can we measure the varieties of peace, especially in post-war societies? What are the causes of peace? Based on such insight, what are some of the implications for peace building?
Please join us for an interesting and timely discussion with important implications for the international work for peace and security. Illustrative empirical examples from research conducted in a range of different countries will be discussed, including for example Sri Lanka, Zambia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and the Balkans.
