The UK Peace Index is the second in a series of national peace indices produced by IEP. The index found that the UK has become more peaceful over the last decade. Speakers at the launch event included Steve Killelea, Baroness Berridge and Pastor Nims of Peace Alliance.
Peace Metrics, Peace Economics and the Role of Business

A day after the launch of the GTI in London, the New America Foundation hosted a discussion in Washington D.C. that focused on trends in terrorism over the last 10 years.
An event in the House of Commons with the All-Party Parliamentary Group of Tackling Terrorism for over 80 policy-makers and executives crowned the launch of the inaugural Global Terrorism Index.
IEP and Economists for Peace and Security co-hosted an event for the launch of IEP report on Violence Containment Spending in the United States. Daniel Hyslop of IEP and William Hartung, Director, Arms & Security Project, Center for International Policy gave presentations.
The UN hosted a panel discussion on the findings of the 2012 Global Peace Index. The key topic addressed was how peace metrics can inform discussions on risk, resilience and sustainability.

Measure of America, of the Social Science Research Council, hosted a discussion on the 2012 U.S. Peace Index, featuring MOA co-Directors Sarah Burd-Sharps and Kristen Lewis, CityEconomist Principal John Tepper Marlin, and IEP Executive Chairman Steve Killelea.
The 2012 U.S. Peace Index was launched on Capitol Hill with a panel discussion featuring Jared Bernstein, Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Annie Lowrey, Reporter for the New York Times, and Steve Killelea, Executive Chairman of IEP. The panel focused on the implications of the Index on the economy and budget and was moderated by Steve Clemons, Washington Editor at Large for the The Atlantic.
Launch of Measuring Peace in the Media at the World Economic Forum

Measuring Peace in the Media was launched at Davos 2012; speakers included: Ibrahim Negm, senior advisor to the Grand Mufti, Salil Shetty, Secretary-General of Amnesty International, the CEO of Media Tenor Roland Schatz and Steve Killelea, IEP.
At the World Peace Festival Steve Killelea, founder of the Insitute for Economics, stirred up a lot of attention. Peace can and should be measured to highlight successes and mistakes in international peace building, Killelea said.
2011 Global Peace Index Discussion at the United Nations
