African regional dialogue on the Africa we want and the UN we need

Join us for the African SOTF Dialogue on "The Africa We Want and the United Nations We Need" in Abuja, Nigeria. The Global Policy Dialogue from 4-6 March is set to explore strategies for enhancing Africa's voice and participation in the UN system.

The event aims to bring together prominent policy researchers, practitioners, and advocates from Africa and globally to deliberate on and propose specific regional and global innovations that could inform the agenda of the Summit of the Future, giving special attention to African perspectives and innovation priorities. Additionally, the event seeks to establish a new platform for African policy stakeholders to engage in critical discussions on "What Africa Wants" and the nature of its relationship with key international institutions. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen African Union, ECOWAS, and UN collaboration.

Milton Nyamadzawo, Director for Africa at the Institute for Economics and Peace, will participate as a panelist in the “From this Abuja Dialogue to the Nairobi UN Civil Society Conference in May to the Summit of the Future in September”. Additionally, he will co-facilitate the Policy Dialogues Work Stream along with Florence Syevuo, Executive Director of SDGs Kenya Forum and Co-Chair of the Coalition for the UN We Need, as co-facilitator.
